VIDEO: Team Biden’s Rush to Embrace the Chinese Communist Party

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In the first weeks of the Biden administration, a disturbing pattern has developed - President Biden and his cabinet nominees have wasted no time undoing years of effort to constrain the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

On his first day as Secretary of State, Antony Blinken telegraphed his embrace of China by claiming that the U.S.-China relationship was "arguably the most important relationship that we have in the world."

Governor Gina Raimondo, President Biden's nominee to be Secretary of the Department of Commerce, has refused to commit to keeping Huawei Technologies, a global espionage operation of the CCP masquerading as a technology company, on the Commerce Department's Entity List, which would bar it from acquiring American technology.

Sen. Cruz grilled U.N. Ambassador nominee Linda Thomas-Greenfield over her 2019 remarks at an event sponsored by a Confucius Institute, a key propaganda platform for the communist regime, where Ms. Thomas-Greenfield praised the CCP and downplayed the risk that China poses to the security and safety of the American people.

While Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, allegedly abused his power to provide special government favors to benefit well-connected Democrats, which resulted in a high-level official at Huawei obtaining an EB-5 visa, actions that led Sen. Cruz to oppose his nomination.

In addition, the Biden administration has:

  • Rejoined the Paris Climate allows China, the world's largest polluter, to avoid the same terms as the United States while destroying hundreds of thousands of American energy and manufacturing jobs.
  • Rejoined the World Health Organization that has consistently done the bidding of the CCP including to cover-up the global threat posed by COVID-19.
  • Delayed the implementation of a ban on investments in companies tied to the Chinese military.

As Sen. Cruz has repeatedly said, China is the single greatest geopolitical threat facing the United States and a profoundly malign influence. Sen. Cruz remains committed to fundamentally reassessing the U.S.-China relationship and holding China accountable for their repeated espionage, propaganda, censorship, abusive practices, and human rights violations.
