Sen. Cruz Applauds Announcement of Robert C. O’Brien to be National Security Advisor

September 18, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued a statement following President Trump's announcement naming Robert C. O'Brien his National Security Advisor:

"I'm very pleased to see President Trump has named Robert as his next National Security Advisor. Robert is exceptionally qualified, having served in several national security and foreign policy posts across multiple Republican administrations, most recently as the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs. I am confident he will advance our national security during this time of heightened global tension, when enemies like Iran and rivals such as Russia and China are challenging us with new dangers, and I look forward to working with him in confronting those dangers."
