Sen. Cruz Travels to Coastal Shores of Texas to Visit and Encourages First Responders, Volunteers, and Storm Victims

Surveys Storm Damage in Lamar, Fulton, Rockport, Port Aransas

PORT ARANSAS, Texas – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today visited Lamar, Rockport, Fulton and Port Aransas to thank first responders and dedicated volunteers for their kind and brave service for the communities. There, he visited several Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) and firehouses, helped residents remove debris, and visited local relief distribution centers. Earlier in the day, he visited the Victoria Co. EOC and a non-profit relief distribution center.

Still photos and video of Sen. Cruz’s visit will be available here.

“In every city I have visited, people are uniting to help one another. Volunteers of all ages are selflessly dedicating their time and energy into rebuilding coastal communities in the aftermath of Harvey. Through these inspirational actions, Texans are providing examples of leadership to our nation and proving that in times like these, we come together. Individual stories I have come across in each city remind me of how truly blessed we are to live in the Lone Star state. It demonstrates how resilient and strong Texans are and how as a state, we will endure and prevail. And in the end Texas will come out even stronger.”
