WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today released the latest in a series of “Freedom Minute” segments in which he notes the United States would be better served by President Reagan's policy of "peace through strength" rather than President Obama's appeasement and "peace with justice."

“PROMOTING PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH” RADIO SCRIPT [60 SECONDS]:

Hi, I’m Ted Cruz and this is the Freedom Minute.

Last week in Germany, President Obama stood on the east side of the Brandenberg Gate and proclaimed himself a, quote, "citizen of the world," vowing to slash our nuclear weapons capability.

The irony is, the President was free to stand on what was the Soviet side of Berlin to discuss what he called "global peace with justice" because of the very nuclear arsenal he now wants to dismantle.

The President claimed that at the end of the Cold War, quote, "Openess won, tolerance won, and freedom won." But the truth is, the United States of America won.

The Berlin Wall fell because President Reagan stood up to the Soviets, rather than appeasement  and "peace with justice." We will be far better served by President Reagan's policy of "peace through strength."

I'm Ted Cruz, and this is the Freedom Minute.
