FACT SHEET: Sen. Cruz Delivers for Texas Telecommunications Industry

DALLAS, Texas – Today, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee, sat down with AT&T CEO John Stankey and senior executives at AT&T’s headquarters in Dallas to discuss FCC nominations, spectrum, taxes, and other issues faced by the company.

Sen. Cruz has been a consistent advocate for fair telecommunications practices and champion of free enterprise to foster prosperity for businesses in this field, both Texas-based and beyond.

  • Serving as Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, Sen. Cruz successfully advocated against Senate confirmation of Biden administration nominee Gigi Sohn, who would have radicalized the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
    • Sen. Cruz has a history of advocating for qualified candidates who champion free enterprise.
  • Sen. Cruz has conducted rigorous FCC and NTIA oversight and continues to work to reduce inefficiency in federal programs andadministrative overreach.
  • Sen. Cruz has been working to restore the FCC’s spectrum auction authority and expand commercial access to spectrum.
