WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) today released the following statements after President Trump nominated Drew Tipton to fill a judicial vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in Corpus Christi:

"I am grateful Drew Tipton has been nominated to the federal bench," Sen. Cruz said. "Drew's expertise and commitment to the rule of law will serve Texans well. I look forward to his speedy confirmation in the Senate."

"Drew Tipton will make an excellent federal judge, and I look forward to supporting his swift confirmation in the Senate," said Sen. Cornyn. "I applaud President Trump for having selected a nominee for the last remaining federal judicial vacancy in Texas, thus ensuring Texans have the benefit of timely and efficient justice."
