Sen. Cruz Issues Statement on Hurricane Preparedness

Urges all Texans to prepare for the hurricane season starting on June 1, 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement about preparing for the upcoming hurricane season.

“As we enter another hurricane season starting June 1, I want to urge all Texans to prepare for the potentially harmful storms and floods summers in Texas can bring,” Sen. Cruz said. “As we saw with Hurricane Harvey last year, these seasonal storms can be devastating to entire communities. The good news is that being prepared can make a big difference.

“The month of May is dedicated to Texas NFIP and is an opportune time to learn about flood insurance. Texans can find more information about the National Flood Insurance Program by visiting https://www.fema.gov/national-flood-insurance-program or calling 1-800-427-4661.

“I encourage all Texans to use the available resources at their disposal to get ready for the hurricane season ahead.”
