Sen. Cruz: Obamacare Continues to Be a Disaster for American Families

Issues statement on Aetna's exit from Obamacare's exchanges

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement on Aetna’s decision to exit Obamacare exchanges in all but four states, noting that American families will face higher costs and fewer options as competition within the exchanges continues to dwindle:

“Obamacare continues to be a disaster for American families, and Aetna’s decision to exit the Obamacare exchanges in more than 500 counties exemplifies the downward spiral of the President’s signature policy. As competition continues to dwindle in Obamacare’s exchanges, Americans continue to see fewer options and increasing costs. Sadly, this is no surprise to many conservatives who warned of the dangers of a government-run healthcare system.

“This disastrous policy has increased healthcare costs, limited healthcare options, and robbed hardworking Americans of good paying jobs. I will continue to fight to repeal Obamacare and will stand with my colleagues and the American people to ensure that the federal government doesn’t give any more breaks to insurance companies and big healthcare interests at the expense of hardworking Americans.”
