Sen. Cruz Discusses Obamacare Repeal and Fundamental Tax Reform in New Braunfels and San Antonio

‘I am fighting for policies that will expand opportunity for every Texan'

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today toured Sysco Central Texas, Inc. in New Braunfels, where he held a town hall with employees. Following his town hall, Sen. Cruz delivered remarks at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Later in the day, Sen. Cruz visited Division Laundry & Cleaners, also in San Antonio, where he discussed the need to roll back unnecessary and burdensome federal regulations so that small businesses can grow, innovate and thrive.

During his visit at Sysco Central Texas, Inc., Sen. Cruz discussed his efforts to expand opportunity and create good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans across the Lone Star State.

“When I travel the state of Texas, from the Panhandle to the Rio Grande, Texans care about jobs and seeing their wages rising,” Sen. Cruz said. “And the way we do that, the way we see wages rise and jobs and economic growth expanding, is by reducing the burden of federal regulations on businesses, and reforming the tax code. I am spending every waking moment in the Senate fighting for policies that will expand opportunity for every Texan.”

Sen. Cruz also delivered remarks at a luncheon with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, discussing his priorities for Texans, including repealing and replacing Obamacare, and lowering health insurance premiums.

“We have to deliver on our promise to repeal Obamacare,” Sen. Cruz said. “Obamacare is the biggest job killer in this country. As I tour the state of Texas, meeting with small businesses and I do that over and over and over again, listening to small businesses over and over again, Obamacare comes back as the single biggest barrier to small businesses growing.”
