Sen. Cruz: Heidi and I Wish the Jewish People a Very Happy Hanukkah

'In a year often filled with darkness, the Festival of Lights illuminates the need to protect the right of all Americans to worship freely according to our faith'

HOUSTON, Texas - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement marking the start of Hanukkah:

“As the sun sets this evening, the Jewish people across the world will light their menorah, beginning an eight day celebration of the historic triumph of the Maccabees, the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, and the ultimate liberation of Judea. In a year often filled with darkness, the Festival of Lights illuminates the need to protect the right of all Americans to worship freely according to our faith and the importance of our crucial partnership with Israel, an alliance that led to reinstating Jerusalem to its rightful place as the once and eternal capital of Israel just three years ago.

“Heidi and I wish the Jewish people a very Happy Hanukkah.”
