Sen. Cruz Announces Staff Hire to D.C. Office

January 3, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today announced a new staff hire in his Washington, D.C. office, effective immediately. He has named Sam Cooper as Deputy Chief of Staff.

“I’m pleased to welcome Sam back to our Senate team,” Sen. Cruz said. “His wealth of experience fighting for freedom and conservative principles across the nation will be invaluable to forging strong partnerships with my fellow Texans, conservative activists in Washington, and concerned Americans of every background.”

Cooper returns to Sen. Cruz’s office from Matt Rosendale’s campaign for U.S. Senate, where he served as Campaign Manager and Senior Advisor. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. Cooper has previously served as a member of Sen. Cruz’s Senior Staff as Director of Strategic Initiatives and as a Regional Political Director for the Cruz for President campaign. Cooper is a campaign veteran who has worked on dozens of races across the country. He is a graduate of William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.
