WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement on the devastating U.S. military transport plane crash in Afghanistan:

“Today, Dyess Air Force Base and our country face a heartbreaking loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the airmen, contractors, and Afghans killed in today’s C-130 crash in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. While the specifics of the crash are still unfolding, one thing we know is that Texans and our fellow Americans are grieving. This tragedy serves as a reminder that the brave Americans deployed to Afghanistan and participating in Operation Resolute Support face unimaginable dangers every day. Let us never forget the price these courageous men and women are willing to pay so that we may enjoy the many blessings of liberty.”
