CBS 19: Senator Ted Cruz Talks Politics to Sabato’s Class

Republican Senator Ted Cruz made a stop by Larry Sabato’s Intro to Politics class Wednesday on UVa’s grounds. The Senator from Texas gave a two minute speech on economic growth and fighting back for our constitutional liberties, and then opened the floor up for questions from the class.

Students asked Sen. Cruz for his thoughts on immigration reform, Russia, ways to get the GOP vote and minimum wage.

On the subject of minimum wage Sen. Cruz says that he feels jobs would be eliminated by the minimum wage hike. He says he doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

Sen. Cruz also spoke about Obamacare. He says he would’ve allowed people to buy health insurance across state lines and eliminate the link between health care and employment.
