November 25, 2017

Greetings,

At Thanksgiving, we pause and thank God for the gift of freedom. This gift, first sought by the Pilgrims in their courageous journey to the New World, has been woven into the very fabric of our nation. We are grateful for the sacrifices of generations of Americans who have defended the liberty we all enjoy.

All across America this week, families and loved ones gather to reflect, and celebrate our abundant blessings. In Texas, we’ve seen our share of heartbreak and challenges. From the widespread devastation along the Texas Gulf Coast in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, to the horrific shooting in Sutherland Springs, our state has been hurting and grieving. But in the face of these hardships, we’ve seen Texans persevere. We’ve seen Texans coming together and helping their fellow Texans. It is this courage, the ‘can-do’ spirit of our state, that will allow Texas to rebuild, and come back stronger than ever. For that, we can be immensely thankful.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind those affected by Hurricane Harvey that the final day to apply for FEMA’s individual disaster assistance is November 30th; you can register at disasterassistance.gov.

My Senate office continues to work to ensure swift and effective service to Texans and Texas communities in need of federal assistance following the storm. If you need additional information or assistance during the recovery and rebuilding process, please do not hesitate to contact my office or utilize the federal and state resources listed here.

Please read below for an update from this last week.

Keep Texas Strong,

TC Sig
