Sen. Cruz: Texans Want to See the Border Secured, Our Border Patrol Agents Supported, and Legal Immigration Championed

Tours U.S.-Mexico border with Vice President Pence, Secretary Nielsen, and local Border Patrol officials

HIDALGO, Texas – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today joined Vice President Mike Pence, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, and other local and Border Patrol officials to tour the U.S.-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley.

“I was honored to join Vice President Pence, Secretary Nielsen, RGV Sector Chief Manny Padilla, and CBP Director David Higgerson today for a visit along the border,” Sen. Cruz said. “Meeting with, and hearing firsthand, the challenges our Border Patrol agents face is always an honor, and I am grateful for the productive conversations we have had today. The overwhelming majority of Texans want to see the border secured, our Border Patrol agents supported, and legal immigration championed.”
